Coffee Cake Exceptionale
My Mom’s Recipe cut out from a magazine or newspaper many years ago. A Christmas morning favorite.
Easily made and tastes extra good. (TRUE!) Freezes well. About 14 servings.
Heat Oven to 350°
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream ( sour cream makes everything better and super moist )
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts ( if you want )
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- Step 1
Heat oven to 350° Grease 10×4 inch tube pan, 12-cup bundt pan or 2 loaf pans.
- Step 2
Combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Beat 2 minutes. Mix in flour, baking powder, soda, salt alternately with sour cream. For tube or bundt pan, spread 1/3 of batter in pan and sprinkle with 1/3 filling; repeat twice. For loaf pans, spread 1/4 of batter in each pan and sprinkle each with 1/4 of the filling; repeat.

Bake 1 hour or until wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool slightly in pan before removing.
